  • 1¾ cup all purpose flour sifted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ⅓ cup shortening
  • ¾ cup plus 1 tbsp crunchy peanut butter (you can use creamy peanut butter also)
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs slightly beaten – room temperature 
  • 1¼ cups mashed ripe bananas
  • 1 cup chocolate chips regular or mini

How To Make Easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Bread

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • Grease and flour loaf pan or spray loaf pan with baking spray.
  • Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda and set aside.
  • Cream shortening and peanut butter.
  • Add sugar and eggs and mix.
  • Alternately add dry ingredients and bananas. Fold in with spatula and do not beat.
  • Fold in chocolate chips with spatula.
  • Pour batter into a 5×9 oaf pan.
  • Bake for a cook time of 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes.
  • Let cool 5 to 10 minutes before releasing from pan.
  • Try to allow bread to cool completely before cutting.
