These double chocolate fudge brownies are thick, full of deep, rich chocolate brownie flavor and they’re so simple to make.
These double fudge brownies are my incredible Reese Cup Brownies without the Reese Cups and with luscious, fudgy, sweet chocolate frosting added on top.
I knew when I first bit into one of these Reese Cup Brownies they were decadent and delicious. However, the double fudge chocolate brownie surrounding the Reese Cup was mouthwatering and indulgent by itself. It definitely deserved a post and fanfare of it’s own.
So here is that fudgy double chocolate brownie recipe topped with some intensely lush, fudgy chocolate brownie frosting. I hope you enjoy this as much as co-workers and I did.
Chewy Fudgy Brownies
I guarantee with these brownies you will not be saying, ” why are my brownies dry ” or ” these brownies are too crumbly ” No, these double fudgy chocolate brownies are super moist and thick and double the fudge, chewiness and deliciousness.
These are a chewy, fudgy brownie as opposed to a cake brownie. Now, we’re not hating on cake brownies. Many people love these lighter, airy brownies with a cake like interior. However, I prefer a chewy, fudgy brownie and that’s what this simple brownie recipe delivers.
The Key To Chewy Fudge Brownies
The key to perfect double fudge chocolate brownies is fat, yes beautiful fat. Chewy, fudgy brownies have a higher fat to flour ratio than cakey brownies. That’s right, we’re talking the addition of more butta and baking chocolate (in this recipe it’s chocolate chips ) in our chewy, fudgy brownie recipe.
Please don’t let the additional butta, baking chocolate and other sinful ingredients stop you from enjoying this chewy fudge brownie recipe. No, embrace the higher fat content and enjoy one (or two) of these decadent, moist, chewy fudgy brownies. You can deal with it at the gym tomorrow.

Can I Freeze Brownies
So, you have a plate of leftover, tempting double fudge brownies with fudge frosting sitting in front of you and they’re whispering to you in a seductive voice. What do you do? Freeze those bad boys. Yes, put them in the freezer, instead of on your hips.
Brownies freeze super well. No, they want loose any of their deep, rich chocolaty, fudgy flavor. In fact, I think they might even gain some flavor while serving some freezer time, but that’s just me.
This post from Taste of Home tells us how we can freeze those fudgy double chocolate brownies without them loosing any of that delicious flavor.
To Freeze A Pan Of Brownies
- Line the pan you’ll bake in with parchment paper. Make sure plenty of paper pokes out above the brownies, so it’s easy to grab.
- After baking the brownies, let them cool completely.
- Remove brownies from pan with the parchment paper that’s poking out above the brownies.
- Wrap the whole sheet of brownies tightly with plastic wrap and then with foil.
- You can freeze brownies up to 3 months.
To Freeze Brownies Individually
- Bake brownies and let them cool.
- Slice cooled brownies and place them in a glass or plastic container in a single layer.
- Cover that layer with wax or parchment paper.
- Press the paper lightly onto the top of each brownie to create a better seal.
- Top with another layer of brownies.
- Repeat until container is full or you run out of brownies.
- Make sure you cover the top layer of brownies with paper also.
- Brownies will freeze up to 3 months.
When it comes to frosted brownies, I know this post from Taste of Home says leave them unfrosted in the freezer and frost them when you get them out. However, I have had great success freezing frosted brownies and find them to taste every bit as delicious as just baked and frosted brownies.
